This is a one off opportunity to fly in the last airborne Lancaster. A unique opportunity and one which is sure to attract a lot of attention – however, for one lucky winner it will be the experience of a lifetime.
The winner will be able to attend the unveiling of the Bomber Command memorial at Hyde Park Corner in Autumn 2011. This prestigious ceremony will be attended by Her Majesty the Queen and other notable dignitaries. You will then be in the Lancaster as part of the fly past.
To be a part of this amazing occasion, simply send us your highest bid. All the bidding will be sealed and will begin on May 13th 2010 – with the highest bidder being drawn on 31st August 2010. However, it is important to remember that all the monies raised from this auction will be going to the Bomber Command Memorial – so please be generous.
If you aren’t lucky enough to win the flight in the Lancaster – don’t worry. This auction lot is also a one-off. It includes the signed Ashes cricket bat that was presented by the England and Australian cricket teams at Lords in 2009. Complete with a certificate of authenticity, this is truly a piece of sporting history. However, that’s not all – the lot also includes a framed photograph of a flypast by a Lancaster over Lords – the perfect accompaniment to the cricket bat. Both items come with certificates of authenticity and are signed by the England and Australian cricket teams. The lucky winner of this lot will also be invited to attend the inaugural opening of the Bomber Command memorial.
